Amber is from the north east of Belgium and is currently studying her fourth year at the music teacher’s programme at the LUCA School of Arts Campus in Lemmens. During this semester she has been undergoing exchange studies at the Malmö Academy of Music. There are several students from Belgium attending the academy in Malmö, and after hearing so much good things about both the academy and the town itself she decided to apply, and got accepted.
- One thing I’ve noticed since I came here is that great focus is aimed at the well-being of the students. Every teacher I’ve met has been very open for you as a student to get the chance to say what you want to do. That is something I will bring with me.
- I get the feeling everyone here at the academy likes being here and doing what they do. Everyone is supportive of each other and does their very best. This contributes to a good atmosphere in the building.
Amber is a tenant in an apartment with a swedish woman, very close to the school.
- Living with someone from Sweden makes everything so much easier, it helps becoming a part of the community in a way I couldn’t if I would live alone.
- In Belgium I live in a very small community, but in Malmö I really get the feeling of calm even though it’s a big city. You get a little of both. I also appreciate the little parks located throughout the city.
