Jelena grew up in Trieste, Italy, where she is studying a bachelor’s degree of fine arts at the conservatory of Parma. When she went to upper secondary school in Italy, she did an exchange year in Sweden, which opened her eyes to this country. So when the time came to apply for an exchange year during her music education, Sweden was the obvious choice. The Conservatory of Parma has a standing cooperation with the Malmö Academy of Music, and Jelena got in contact with another italian exchange student attending this school, and so she decided to move here.
- My ambition here is to get to know a different school and environment of studying. The difference between Malmö Academy of Music and the Conservatory of Parma is big, but I like it very much here.
- The organization behind the academy is good - everything works. The premises and practice rooms are good and everyone has good respect for each other. I’m actually considering studying here for another year after this.
Jelena has already visited Malmö Live and Palladium several times.
- The concert venues and opportunities in Malmö are fantastic. The fact that we get to attend concerts free of charge in such beautiful acoustics as Malmö Live is something I value and appreciate very much.
After her bachelor’s degree, Jelena is considering becoming a piano tuner or switching career entirely. A master’s degree of fine arts is not in question at the moment.
- This could change, of course, you never know!
